"Quality Assessment Management Accreditation Scheme"


Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority has again granted our school the Certificate of "Quality Assessment Management Accreditation Scheme", valid until 2022.  Ms Yeung Sheung Fong (Senior Teacher) and Ms Ng Mei Ha (Senior Teacher) received the certificate on behalf of our school.  Once again, our work is recognized by the industry and its practitioners and we have proven our performance in the Management.

The Paula Helen Stanley Fidelity Award 2015 by
International Alliance for Invitational Education


Our school has been awarded by the International Alliance for Inviting School 3rd Silver Fidelity Award.

Mr. Lee Hei Sum, our school vice-Principal, has gone to Long Island, (USA) from 18th October, 2015 to 26th October, 2015 to receive the award and attended international conference.

Lenten Charitable School Award


 

The message of His Holiness Pope Francis for Lent 2015 is "Make your hearts firm" (Jas 5:8). In response to the Pope, Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong had "Believe in God; Live in Love" as the theme for Lent 2015. We should establish a community with a spirit of solidarity, abandon individualism and selfishness. On the other hand, it is encouraged to do the good deeds, to care your neighbour, family and vulnerable groups in order to witness the love of God.

 

 

In this year's Lenten Charitable School Award, our school received the highest honour, "Certificate of Love". We allow teachers, students and parents understand charity comes from Holy Spirit, and to follow "Seraphic Doctor" -- St. Bonaventure's way to love.

The Hong Kong Healthy School Award Scheme


Our school recieved the Silver Award in the Hong Kong Healthy Schools Award Scheme 2013-2014 from Centre for Health Education and Health Promotion, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. The award indicates that we meet the standards set by the World Health Organization.

“The 8th Wetland Theatre──Story-telling Competition”


“The 8th Wetland Theatre──Story-telling Competition” is jointly organized by Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, Hong Kong Wetland Park and the Hong Kong Council of Early Childhood Education and Services on 11th January, 2014.  

 

This year, two drama teams joined the competition and performed in Cantonese and Putonghua respectively.

 

Our school has won four awards:

2013

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization: Exemplary School for Education for Sustainable Development in China.


Our school was honoured to have received the ‘Exemplary School for Education for Sustainable Development in China’ from UNESCO, becoming the first Exemplary School in Hong Kong. Principal CHEUNG Wai Ching, former Vice Principal LAM Wai Choi, and Mr. Lee Wing Kin went to the 6th Beijing International Forum on Education for Sustainable Development on behalf of our school to receive the certification. They also gave a report on ‘From Intangible Cultural Heritage to Life Education’, to share our experience in carrying out Life Education and education on intangible cultural heritage, in ‘DESD in Hong Kong: Review and Way Forward’ at the designated venue for Hong Kong.

 

In addition, 2 of our teachers, as a result of every member of our school cooperation and hard work, also received the first class and second class credentials for their cases and essays from the China National Working Committee for UNESCO Project on Education for Sustainable Development.

Our school received the gold prize in the school award scheme from "Love Our Planet 4.22 Hong Kong Goes Green Monday" held by Green Monday for the active promotion of health, low carbon meals, and environmental conservation.

2012

SUNTECH Annual Environmental Prize Presentation


Aside from clear environmental policies and administrations, part of our school's management includes the formation of special function task forces to handle and monitor policy implementations and results, and to inform stakeholders of their work. Every task force will make sure that up-to-date eco-protection trends are followed and applied. Our school would also make special arrangements with different sectors to educate and share their knowledge of sustainable development to our staff and students, thereby, facilitating and enhancing our leadership in sustainable development. In SUNTECH Green Solutions Ltd annual prize presentation ceremony, Mr CHENG Yiu-tong, GBS, JP presented the environmental prize to our school.

港燈智惜用電計劃(2012)最傑出『綠得開心學校』大獎

 

 

本校參加了港燈『綠得開心學校』智惜用電計劃(2012),並在60多間參加的小學和特殊學校中榮獲港燈『最傑出綠得開心學校』大獎(小學組),頒獎禮於2012年11月24日在港燈總部舉行。

 

港燈智「惜」用電計劃的目的是為教導年青一代,如何養成良好的用電習慣。港燈過去分別推出多項為中學生和小學生度身訂做的活動,全港超過23萬中小學生及公眾人士曾參加此項計劃的活動。如達到指定要求,參與學校將獲得『綠得開心學校』標誌,表現最佳的榮獲『最傑出綠得開心學校』大獎。透過此項計劃,本校積極參與不同類型的綠色活動,讓同學們可以體驗「其他學習經歷」(OLE),達致環保和服務學習的目的。

Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers (the Federation) conducted the "Outstanding Teachers Election" to compliment the educational achievements and contribution to the society of teachers. The Election is also instrumental in establishing the spirit of "Converging Professional Force" and "Attaining Excellence" .

 

The General Studies teachers of our school were recognized again by peers for their effort in implementing school based technology educational curriculum, and were awarded the prestigious title of "Outstanding Teacher Election 2011".

 

26th National Youth Innovative Technology Competition


 

 

Teachers of General Studies of our school have, over the year, devoted much effort in implementing school-based technology educational curriculum, and gained the recognition of educational practitioners in the Mainland.

 

Mr. Lam Wai Choi represented Hong Kong to participate in the 26th National Youth Innovative Technology Competition held in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and obtained excellence in result.

Fifth International Forum on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)


 

 

As one of the ESD experimental schools, we are committed to curriculum reform and promoting sustainable development of education. In the "Fifth International ESD Forum"held in Beijing from 16 to 18 October 2011, our principal, Ms. Ada Cheung represented Hong Kong Region in sharing our experience of full orientation development and attracted much attention of Mainland and international peers. Our vice principal, Mr. Lam Wai Choi had also represented the school to share the practical experience of environmental education implementation in school.

 

 

 The activity case studies written by three teachers of our school had obtained First and Second Class Prize awarded by the National Working Committee. This is the achievement of hard work of all students and teachers of the school.

School make persistent efforts, participated in the following year by the "International Alliance of Invitational Education" organized by the "2011 International Invitational Education Fidelity Award", and once again invited in 2011 October 19 to 31 to the United States to accept the award and participate in local organized the meeting.

2010 International Invitational Education Award (Inviting School Award)


 

 

 

"Invitational Education" (Invitational Education) by the U.S. Education Master William Purkey and a number of scholars founded in 1982 to encourage educators to respect, trust and positive attitudes for students to create a pleasant learning environment. In the care of the mind, the theory believes that all students are capable, valuable and responsible.

  

Since 2005, the school joined the International Alliance of Invitational Education, through its five "Ps" principle: Policy (Policies); people (People); places (Places); program (Programs) and process (Progresses) and deliberately arranged to help students' potentials.

 

Implementation of this plan, the school has to keep in touch with the Alliance, by years of practice, and the U.S. Advisory Group rigorous validation, the school finally succeeded in obtaining international recognition for this qualification. On September 22, 2010 to October 1, 2010, Ms Cheung Wai Ching, the principal and Mr Lee Hei Sum, went to the United States to accept the "2010 International Invitational Education Award" (Inviting School Award).

The Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE) has been recognized by the community as one of the most prestigious and reputable award schemes in Hong Kong.

In line with the Government mission and to cater for the need of the community, the HKAEE aims to encourage businesses and organizations to adopt green management and present them with an opportunity to benchmark their commitment towards environmental excellence. The Sectoral Awards scheme grants awards to organizations of designated sectors with an overall outstanding environmental performance.

Launched by The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS), the Caring Organisation Scheme (the Scheme) aims at cultivating good corporate citizenship. It is specifically geared to building strategic partnerships among businesses and non-profit organisations to create a more cohesive society. Besides cultivating corporate social responsibility, the Scheme also endeavors to promote partnership between the business and the social welfare sectors. Through cross-sectoral activities and exchanges, the two sectors can get to know and understand each other and develop community projects matching with community needs.

The Hong Kong Green School Award is organised by the Environmental Campaign Committee, Environmental Protection Department and Education Bureau since 2000.

 

The objectives of this Scheme are to encourage schools to formulate a school environmental policy and environmental management plan towards a green school; enhance environmental awareness, develop environmentally friendly attitude and promote green practices among school managers, teachers, non-teaching staff, students and their parents.
